Shantir Boi and the books we stock have been in the news and involved in community projects every so often.

On July 14th we are hosting an event with Tharik Hussain on his recent travel book about Muslim people in the Balkans, “Minarets in the Mountains”. Please contact us and come along.

In many summers we have had a stall at Boishaki Mela in Weavers’ Fields and at ELT Church’s Summer Fair in Mile End Park.

Earlier this year, we were on NTV again to talk about Sylheti language. You can watch some of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9UZ4JM7iOU

And we partnered with artist Saif Osmani on providing a workshop and resources at his “Bangla is not my mother tongue” exhibition:

Here’s East End Life’s report on a new publication: http://ebook-tm.s3.amazonaws.com/East_End_Life_08Dec2014/index.html#/16/ (It’s on the right hand side, under “News in Brief”)

And, here are a couple of our workers/volunteers discussing Shantir Boi last year and how we can make peace in the community on NTV:
